PURPOSE: To provide an ionizing radiation converter which improves distorsion of an output image. CONSTITUTION: A converter 10 includes a vacuum sealed enclosure 12, a cathode 16, an anode 18 which demarcatingly forms a pin hole 20 and includes an output phosphorus layer directed oppositely to the cathode, and focusing electrodes 26, 30. These focusing electrodes, the anode, and the cathode, while they are used, cause photo-electrons emitted by the anode as a result of input ionizing radiation to move so as to return to the anode through the pin hole such that they collide with the output phosphorus layer and generate a reinforcement signal which indicates input radiation.
