PURPOSE:To perform satisfactory transfer, to prevent deterioration of an image and to make the separability of a transfer body satisfactory in any environment. CONSTITUTION:The image forming device is provided with a photosensitive body 1 on which a toner image is formed, the transfer body which moves in contact with the photosensitive body 1 with the prescribed nip width between them and is subjected to the transfer of the toner image formed on the photosensitive body 1, a transfer bias impression means 8 which impresses a prescribed transfer bias to the transfer body, and a potential gradation producing means 8 which produces a potential gradation in the transfer bias so that an amount that the toner image is transferred from the photosensitive body 1 to the transfer body is increased in an area from the place which is further upstream than a transfer area in relation to the photosensitive body 1 to the point where the contact of the photosensitive body 1 and the transfer body starts. |
