PURPOSE:To improve a trigger effect by constituting a plasma display board of a metal plate having a linear thermal expansion coefficient almost the same with glass, covering this with an insulating layer, making this function as a board on which a display electrode is arranged, and using this as a part of a vacuum container. CONSTITUTION:A board is constituted of a metal plate having a linear thermal expansion coefficient, for example, 40 to 100X10<-7>/ deg.C almost the same with normal plate glass, and this is covered with an insulating layer. To put it concretely, a back board is constituted of a metal plate 6, and this is covered with the insulating layer 5, and rows of cathodes 4 are arranged at intervals on this. Next, rows of barrier ribs 3 are arranged similarly at intervals on this so as to be orthogonal to the rows of the cathodes 4, and anodes 2 are arranged between these, and a front surface is covered with front glass 1. In this way, a display device is made extremely thin and lightweight, and a heat radiating effect is heightened, and the service life is lengthened. A trigger electrode forming process is also reduced, and a trigger electrode layer area is widened. |
