PURPOSE:To form a thermoplastic polyimide pellet by a method wherein a thermoplastic polyimide is supplied to an extruder as a granulated substance of a specific particle diameter and stably extruded by a fixed extruding amount. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyimide is granulated to be 50-1000mum in particle diameter. The granulated substance is supplied to an extruder. The substance less than 50mum in particle diameter is difficult to stably pelletize by a fixed extruding amount. The substance more than 1000mum in particle diameter is reduced in bitten amount to an extruder and results in the reduction of an extruding amount. After being supplied to the extruder, kneaded, melted, and extruded in a strand form, the polyimide granulated substance is cooled and cut into a predetermined size as a pellet. Therefore, the polyimide can be ideally transported through a feeder and favorably bitten to the extruder, and an air accompanying the resin in a barrel of the extruder easily flows back to a supply port. Thus, a fixed extruding amount is stably ensured. |
