PURPOSE: To produce special mixed coloring effects by dyeing polyamide type fibrous materials with a mixture of specified acidic dyes and applying at the same time, earlier or later a specified resist medium locally. CONSTITUTION: Tubted carpets are dyed with a dye compsn. contg. polyvinyl pyrrolidone and a mixture of acidic (metal-free) dyes which contain one or two sulfonic acid group(s), which have a K deg./pH 6 value of 4 or greater, particularly a value of 4.5-6.5, and which have the molecular weight of 450-850 for the acidic form or 480-900 for the sodium salt form. At the same time, earlier or later, the carpets are printed locally with a paste contg. a resist medium of an alkoxylated fatty 1-32C alkylamine, which is optionally protonated or quaternised, then treated thermally with steam to fix the dyes. Thereby, uniform specific coloring effects are provided. |
