摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To secure the high quality of an entire relay line in the communication system of an asynchronous transfer mode by integrating the different service quality classes into the same trunk line and then dynamically changing the bands of the relay line among those classes when the traffic of a specific class exceeds the estimated value. CONSTITUTION:The electronic switchboards 11 and 12 consist of the cross- connection mechanisms 31 and 32 which function to provide the virtual paths 51-54 on the relay line 41 and the exchange mechanisms 21 and 22 which connect by switching the terminals to the virtual paths or connect these paths to each other at every call. The mechanisms 21 and 22 control the bands of the line 41 with the service class of each terminal defined as a parameter. Then both mechanisms 21 and 22 change the bands of paths 51-54 according to the priority at every service quality when the traffic of a specific class exceeds the estimated value to secure the communication paths within the bands of the line 41 without cutting the calls.</p>
