PRODUCTION OF CHAIN CARBONIC ACID ESTER COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To provide a process for producing the objective carbonic acid ester in high selectivity in a form to enable easy post-treatment. CONSTITUTION:A chain carbonic acid ester is produced by the transesterification reaction of a monohydric alcohol with a carbonic acid ester using an alkali metal carbonate as a catalyst. Alkali metal carbonate has excellent safety and stability in itself, is easily handleable and proceeds with the transesterification in high selectivity. Since the catalyst can be removed after the reaction without using water, the post-treatment of the product is easily performed.
