PURPOSE:To easily correct the axial direction of the polarization of the image projected from a projector to the same direction as the axis of polarization of a projection screen by constituting this polarizing filter of a laminate having a twisted nematic liquid crystal substrate and a polarizing film. CONSTITUTION:This polarizing film for the projector consists of the laminate having the twisted nematic liquid crystal substrate 1 and the polarizing film 7. The projector which can impart a polarization maintaining function to the projected image is exemplified by a projector having a liquid crystal panel and is, for example, a liquid crystal projection television, liquid crystal overhead projector, etc. Other projectors not provided with ordinary liquid crystal, panels have the contrivance to impart polarization to rays in optical system. A polarizing film formed by laminating a polarizing film consisting of polyvinyl alcohol and iodine or dichromatic dyes, etc., and triacetyl cellulose or other transparent resin film, sheet, etc., is preferably used as the polarizing film. |
