PURPOSE:To provide an optical multiplexer which suppresses the loss of light and can be expected to provide amplification effects, and is further reducible in size. CONSTITUTION:The optical multiplexer consisting of input/output optical fibers, lenses, and diffraction gratings is provided with 1st lenses 150-152 and 153, semiconductor lasers 160-162 and 163, and 2nd lenses 170-172 and 173 corresponding to input optical fibers 110-130 and an output optical fiber 140; and thus the semiconductor lasers 160-162 and 163 are added to compensate loss resulting from a function for optical multiplexing and also provide amplification effects. |
