This relates to the manufacturing of styrene-base oligomer that is low- or mid-molecular weight homopolymer or copolymer. The oligomer is prepared by polymerization of styrene or vinyl monomer in an aromatic solvent at 150-300 deg.C using the drop-wise monomer addition method. The above drop-wise addition velocity is (0.1-100%)/min in the basis of total monomer, and the velocity is used as constant or can be programmed.
