PURPOSE:To make decoding of a password number difficult, and to improve the security property of the password number by calculating a first temporary password number and a second temporary password number which are inputted by one of the four rules of arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic card, a password number and one of the four rules of arithmetic method which is set are recorded in advance. From a keyboard 9, a temporary password number 1 for identifying the person himself is inputted and read in, and sent and stored as input data in a memory 2. Also, from the keyboard 9, a temporary password number 2 for identifying the person himself is inputted and read in, and sent and stored as input data in the memory 2. Based on the input data of the inputted temporary password numbers 1, 2, a CPU 1 reads in the four rules of arithmetical method determined in advance between the person himself and a contractor from the magnetic card, and based thereon, a number which can become a true password number is calculated. Subsequently, the result of this arithmetic operation and the password number registered n the magnetic card are compared, and when they are equal, it can be confirmed that an operator of a terminal equipment is the person himself. |
