The sound synthesis circuit includes first and second input terminals for receiving an analog stereophonic signal; a third input terminal for receiving a mono signal including a reproduced audio signal; a fourth input terminal for receiving an audio signal; a mixer for selectively mixing the audio signal with the stereophonic signal; a system controller for adding a control signal to the mixer; a mute circuit for mixing the audio signal with the stereophonic signal by muting the control signal; and first and second output terminals, thereby conveying the audio siganl to the stereophonic signal reproduced in a recording medium.
