The procedure consists of subjecting a panel of twin-wall polycarbonate (1) to a thermal moulding process after the open ends of its cells have been blocked with a butyl rubber-based material. The moulding process is carried out by heating the upper and lower surfaces of the panel in a press with radiant plates and then, after the plates have been removed, subjecting its underside to a cold air blowing operation. The domed panel (claimed) produced by the moulding process can then be fitted into a frame made from extrusions (6) with parallel upper and lower ribs (6a, 6b) which hold the panel's edges. USE/ADVANTAGE - Skylight in a building. Reliable in operation and easy to make and transport, at lower cost.
