<p>PURPOSE:To provide a high-performance, composite thermoelectric material, which converts heat to electric energy. CONSTITUTION:A thermoelectric material is produced by a method in which metal chloride, acetylacetone and silicon alkoxide are used as starting materials. The method comprise the steps of formation of metal acetyl acetonate, hydrolysis of silicon alkoxide, dechlorination, and heat treatment in a nitrogen-hydrogen atmosphere. According to this method, it is possible to produce a composite thermoelectric material of high quality, which has a high Seebeck coefficient, a high electric conductivity and a low thermal conductivity. This material can be worked into various shapes.</p> |
