<p>PURPOSE:To provide a communication system which takes the anti-loss characteristic of the cell corresponding to a media into consideration while maintaining the transmission efficiency of the media multiplex packet communication. CONSTITUTION:At the transmitter side, a media identifier 3 and an information length identifier 2 are added to the packet information on each medium. Plural pieces of packet information with the identifier appended are collected and the medium multiplex packet information is formed. Under such conditions, the media are sorted into a non-real time system that can be easily recovered from a transmission error by retransmission, etc., and a real time system for which a recovery means is difficult. The latter system is arranged before the media multiplex packet information. When there are plural media of both systems existed, the average packet information lengths are compared with each other among the media. Then the media of the smaller information lengths are arranged before the multiplex packet information and then divided into plural cells. These divided cells are transmitted. On the receiver side, even when a part of plural cells has a transmission error and the subsequent cells can not be normally received, each packet information acquired before the transmission error can be normally received by means of a medium identifier and an information length identifier.</p> |
