A device is claimed for guiding the active quadrants of a reduction machine comprising, around a central core (7), a guide, crossed by some quadrants (5), connected to a system that allows translation at the same time that the quadrants (5) are pivoting in some articulation casings (4). The device comprises: (a) an external rim (15) incorporating some longitudinal apertures (35), crossed by the quadrants (5); and (b) radial corners (27), keyed between two plates of the rim, that can have their radial position regulated and coming into contact, via their sloped lateral faces (27c-27d), with the faces of the juxtaposed quadrants (5), this contact being effected over almost half of the length of each quadrant for essentially its active end (5a). Each articulation casing (4) is independent of the others and is mounted in a collar that allows the regulation of its radial position and each quadrant (5) is made up of a thin plate, independent of the trunnion (36) of the casing (4), but of which the heel (5b) is connected to this trunnion.
