PURPOSE:To reduce variance in recording-reproducing output or variance in track width to a desired range by regulating one of Fe2O3, MnO and ZnO contents, when magnetic heads each having magnetic core halves made of ferrite consisting of Fe2O3, MnO and ZnO are produced in large quantities. CONSTITUTION:A pair of magnetic core halves made of single crystalline ferrite consisting of 52-56mol% Fe2O3, 24-36mol% MnO and 11-22mol% ZnO are butted with a nonmagnetic gap spacer in-between to obtain this magnetic head. At this time, variance in recording-reproducing output is reduced to a desired value by regulating the difference in MnO content between the magnetic core halves to <=0.5mol% and variance in track width is reduced to a desired value by regulating the difference in Fe2O3 content between the magnetic core halves to <=0.4mol%. |
