PURPOSE:To provide a cadmium negative electrode for an alkaline storage battery by which a cycle characteristic can be improved while increasing operating voltage when it is used in a battery. CONSTITUTION:In a cadmium negative electrode 2 for an alkaline storage battery where an active material layer containing a paste material and an active material mainly composed of cadmium oxide is formed on an electrically conductive core body, the paste material containing polyvinyl alcohol and polyacrylic acid soda or alginic acid soda is used as a paste material of the active material layer. |
