PURPOSE:To print data in one sheet of form even when the length of received picture data by the portion of one page in a sub-scanning direction is slightly longer than the length of the printing form in the sub-scanning direction, and to evade the difficulty of reading the printed picture or the high cost of a device due to the reduction of the picture. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a page memory 102 which stores the received picture data, discriminating part 103 which discriminates whether or not the picture information of a main scanning line in the picture data stored in the page memory 102 is a line which can be deleted, and CPU 109 which compares the length of the received picture data for one page in the sub- scanning direction with the length of the printing sheet in the sub-scanning direction, thins out the line which can be deleted from the picture data stored in the page memory 102 based on the discriminated result of the discriminating part 103 when the length of the picture data is longer, and the difference of the length is less than a prescribed value, and uses the picture data after thinning-out as print data. |
