PURPOSE:To provide an authenticity judging device for an auxiliary storing medium which can effectively prevent the illegal reproduction of the auxiliary storing medium by permitting the use of an auxiliary storage that can secure the prescribed relation between the auxiliary storing medium like a CD-ROM, etc., and a storing container. CONSTITUTION:The name data are previously stored in an auxiliary storing medium 41 like a CD-ROM, etc., and the name data and the name address relating to the name data stored in the medium 41 are previously stored in a ROM 44 provided on a storing container. When a CPU 11 is started, the name data are read out of the medium 41 based on the name address. At the same time, a security element 25 provided on the storing container compares the name data of the medium 41 with the name data of the ROM 44. Then a system controller 32 reads out partly the program data stored in the ROM 44 for an original purpose and transfers the program to a main RAM 33 in reply to a fact both name data have the prescribed relation between them. Then the CPU 11 carries out the program evolved into the RAM 33 to perform the processing for the original purpose. |
