The sintered ceramic body is manufactured by (a) mixing the ceramic powder and alumina sol to make the slurry containing 1-10 wt.% powder, (b) spray drying the mixed slurry or molding it at the gypsum mold to remove alumina sol and promote the gelation of slurry, (c) calcinating the mixed slurry to disperse the ceramic powder in alumina matrix, (d) sintering the ceramic body which is molded by cold isostatic pressing. This process has the advantage of the higher sintering density at lower sintering temperature as coating the source powder with alumina sol.
