<p>The present invention relates to a control system for use with an automated intravenous drug and fluid infusion system having plural pumping channels (4, 6, 8, 10) that operate independently for intravenously infusing drugs and fluid. The pumping channels (4, 6, 8, 10) are controlled by a microprocessor-based host controller (2) that monitors each of the channels concurrently. In an exemplary embodiment, the system functions include preventing priming of a channel unless verification is provided that the channel is not connected to a patient and initiating the priming of each of the pumping channels independently.</p> |
