<p>The gearbox (3) driven by a shaft (2) from the engine (1) contains clutches actuated by electromagnetic valves in a hydraulic controller (4). This and the engine are subject to electronic control by microprocessors (5,8) interconnected by a signal line (7) for redn. of engine output torque e.g. by action on fuel injection or ignition timing or throttle closure. Torque transmission by a driving clutch is interrupted or reduced to prevent creep from standstill. Increase of pressure in the clutch during reversion to normal operation is timed in conjunction with the torque control. ADVANTAGE - Engine torque is reduced at a clearly recognised transition between anti-creep control and normal traction, so that the clutch takes up load at a low pressure level, reducing wear and prolonging lifetime.</p> |
