<p>The invention pertains to a process for separating soluble plastic from its bond with other materials, a process for recovering plastics and materials from mixtures and/or combinations and/or composites of plastics with plastics and/or other materials, and a process for concerted upgrading and/or application and/or utilization of swollen plastics. In order to separate plastic that has been bonded with another material, such as metal, and to recover both materials, the material bond is subjected to a swelling agent until the bond has been eliminated and the plastic and the other material can be recovered readily, though in very pure form, by means of a mechanical separation process. The process is used preferably in the recovery of materials in an insulated electrical wire or set of electrical wires.</p> |
