The pressure applied from the master cylinder (1) to the wheel brake cylinder (2) is modulated by a plunger piston (5) with a pin (4) holding the non-return valve (3) open in normal conditions. Changes in pressure are produced by a driving motor (6) geared (7) to a shaft (8) on which a whirling disc (9) carries the support (10) for the piston. A captive spring (11) under the disc is dimensioned to guarantee opening of the valve at about 40% to 50% of max. braking pressure. ADVANTAGE - Bulk and cost are reduced with use of fewer individual components. Multichannel control is feasible with several such devices in combination, pref. decentralised.
