A plate (12) is provided which forms the outer surface of the door panel. The plate comprises a section of panel material and at least on the vertical sides of the door panel (3) is provided with at least one first bend (13) which engages behind a recess (14) of the frame so that the plate is held on the frame (5) by the first bend (13). In the plane of the plate at least in the area of the bend a relative movement between the plate and the frame to a predetermined limited extent is possible. Each first bend is formed by a first section (13''), which encloses an angle of 90 deg. with the plane of the plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - Outer door panel for building is economical to produce.
