A waste processing installation has a high temp. reactor(3) with melt (SCH) and synthesis gas (SY) outlets, the synthesisgas outlet (3a) being connected to a gas cleaning unit (4) havinga cleaned synthesis gas outlet line, a scrubbing water feed line(6) and a waste water discharge line (7) connected to a wastewater treatment unit (8). The novelty is that the gas cleaningunit (4) is associated with an ammonia cracking catalyst (5).
