DNA sequences for staphylokinase (SAK)-polypeptides are plasminogen activators lacking sequences for signal peptides, pref. the specified 414 base pair sequences or their derivs. Also claimed are (i) expression plasmids contg. the above, (i), (ii) host cells carrying (ii) capable of expressing active SAK-polypeptides, pref. E. col or Bacillus spec., (iii) SAK-polypeptides prodn. methods pref. by application to an ion exchange column, elution with aq. NACl treatment with hydrophobic interaction chromatography and isolation of the polypeptides, (iv) SAK polypeptides of the protein sequences shown, (v) pharmaceutical combinations against (ii), (vii) hybridomas ZIM0511 and ZIM0512, and (viii) pharmaceutical compsns. contg. (vi).
