摘要 The blade (10) has a shaft (16) with a central axis for attachment to a rotating miller. At the other end of the shaft is the tooth cutting edge (20) with an axial generating angle and a profile edge (22) bounded on the cutting edge with an axial generating angle which is greater than that of the tooth cutting edge. The profile edge simultaneously forms a profile (26) on the tip of the tooth (14) of the gear or pinion while the tooth is actually being milled. The profile edge may be a straight line or a concave curve. The axial distance from the outer end of the cutter (18) to the cutting point of the cutting edge with the profile edge is less than the height of the tooth to be cut. ADVANTAGE - The profile can be simultaneously cut with the tooth providing for production flexibility so the profile dimensions can easily by changed. Work time and costs are reduced.
