Industrial cabbage harvesting process - uses machine for collection, stalk and outer leaf removal and cleaning

In a cabbage process, cabbages are collected by machine, the stalks are removed and the heads are further treated and then fed to a discharge transporter; (a) each collected cabbage is lightly clamped with its support by an overhead applied force and is moved in the transport direction; (b) the clamped and moving cabbage is subjected, after stalk removal, to leaf removal and peripheral cleaning; and (c) the treated, unclamped cabbage is passed through a visual control and automatically supplied to a discharge transporter. Also claimed is an appts. for carrying out the process. ADVANTAGE - The process provides machine prepn. of cabbages of quality suitable for industrial further processing.
