PRINTED COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD OF FORMING IT

A method of forming a composite sheet material and a printed article are disclosed which comprises printing a pattern on a first web (2) by a printing press (5) and coating the first web (2) with a heat seal lacquer by coating roller (6). Printed web (2a) is adhered to an extruded web (7) to form a printed composite sheet material (8) from which an article can be formed by vacuum moulding or the like at a later time. The invention also discloses the formation of an article by joining a printed web (12a) with a second web (10a) by the application of heat provided by heat rollers (14). The webs (10a and 12a) are then passed to a vacuum forming machine (16) where heat is applied to the webs (10a, 12a) to cause the webs (10a, 12a) to adhere together and to form a moulded article.
