Methods of inhibiting the proliferation of protozoal parasites employing taxol or taxol analogs are provided by the present invention. Such methods may be useful for treating such infections in mammals such as humans. The figure is a schematic representation of the reduction and clearance of parasitemia in infected mice by a single injection of taxol.
