PURPOSE:To meet the function of a stabilizer, arrange small and lightweight parts near an electric discharge lamp and enable the application of low-voltage wiring by arranging a step-up means fed with high frequency low voltage and a voltage conversion part fitted with a current-limiting means respectively in the neighborhood of the electric discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency power supply part 1 equipped with a rectification smoothing circuit 7, a switching circuit 9, an oscillation circuit 10, an insulation voltage conversion circuit 12 and the like, outputs high frequency low voltage such as 24V, 25kHz from a commercial power supply. This low voltage is supplied to a voltage conversion part 3 equipped with a step-up means 4 and a current-limiting means 5 near an electric discharge lamp such as a fluorescent lamp 2 via two wiring members 16. And the limited current of boosted power runs from the conversion part 3, thereby lighting the fluorescent lamp 2. As a result, the function of a stabilizer is met and parts near the fluorescent lamp 2 can be made small and compact due to high frequency voltage treatment. And it becomes possible to obtain a lighting device requiring low-voltage wiring. |
