PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a magnetic recording/reproducing device and at the same time to shorten the dubbing time, by providing a pair of magnetic heads of different azimuths with free reciprocal motions toward the shaft of a rotary drum and driving a magnetic tape in parallel to the circumference surface of the drum. CONSTITUTION:Two windows 2 are provided at two areas of the surface 1A of a rotary drum 1 in parallel to and symmetrically to the rotary shaft. At the same time, magnetic heads 3 and 4 are set which can have free reciprocal motions along the windows 2 and in parallel to the shaft (rectangular to the drawing). Thus the heads 3 and 4 have reciprocal motions in the axial direction by means of drivers 5 and 6. These drivers are moved by a driver control means 7 in a prescribed direction and by a prescribed distance with each turn of the drum 1. A magnetic tape 100 is fed from a reel 12 and driven with a rub to the surface of the drum 1 so that the width direction of the tape 100 is set in parallel to the rotary shaft of the drum 1. Then the tape 100 is taken up to a reel 13. In such a way, the parallel tracks are formed along with installation of heads of the same number as the tracks, and the dubbing time is reduced with a simple structure. |
