A stabiliser compsn. comprising an effective amt. of at least one beta-diketone cpd. of formula (I) or (II) in which R1 = (Y)n-Ph- where Ph = phenyl and each Y (same or different) = 1-12 C hydrocarbon chain, alkoxy, silyl, or non-reactive halogen atom; each R2 (same or different) = H or a gp. chosen from a hydrocarbon chain with from 1 or from 5 to 12C atoms, opt. interrupted by one or more O atoms, aralkyl, alkoxy or silyl, and n = a whole number 0-3; with the proviso that if the number of C atoms in R2 in formula (I) is less than 5, the sum of the C atoms in Y is at least 3 and at most 12, and in formula (II) the total number of C atoms in the two gps. R2 is at least 10. |
