An antibody specific for an antiphospholipid antibody syndrome can be specifically assayed by using a solid-phase reagent prepared by binding beta 2-glycoprotein I to a carrier having a functional group and/or a free radical with a negative charge or a lone electron pair attached to the surface thereof. Also an antibody specific for an antiphospholipid antibody syndrome and another antibody specific for an infectious disease can be differentially detected by using the above reagent or a modification thereof.
