HYPERSONIC SCRAMJET ENGINE FUEL INJECTOR A fuel injector for a hypersonic scramjet engine is described. The fuel injector has a horizontal top wall with a fuel injection orifice, an inclined bottom wall, a vertical end wall with a plurality of spaced apart convergent-divergent fuel outlet nozzles and vertical side walls, whereby the injector housing defines a substantially right angled cross-section. A plurality of fuel injectors are connected to the top portion of the combustor of an scramjet engine and are particularly designed to provide sufficient cooling protection against the hypersonic-speed impingement of the compressed inlet air.
