PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent composition suppressed in the property of destructing insoluble cellulose, excellent in detergency and capable of giving washed clothes improved in softness and hardness by mixing a specified cellulase with a crystalline layered silicate. CONSTITUTION:50-20000 units (in terms of an enzymatic activity) of cellulase having an optimal pH of 7 or above or a relative activity of 50% for a carboxymethylcellulose substrate at a pH of 8 or above and having a nondestructivity index of formula I of 500 and 3-60wt.% crystalline layered silicate of formula II (wherein M is an alkali metal; (x) is 1.5-4; and (y) is 25 or below) and having a particle diameter of 10-500mum are added to 1kg of a mixture of detergent components such as 5-60wt.% surfactant, 0-50wt.% sequestrant for bivalent metals, 0-80wt.% alkali agent or inorganic salt, 0-10wt.% antiredeposition agent, an enzyme, a chlorine scavenger or a reducing agent, a bleaching agent, a fluorescent dye and a solubilizer. |
