<p>PURPOSE:To realize a compact size of the whole body by making the size of the outer diameter of a valve timing control device while securing the pressure receiving area of a piston, and to improve the manufacturing efficiency and to reduce the cost by simplifying the structure, in a valve timing control device to variable-control the opening and closing timing of the suction valve or the exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine according to the operating condition. CONSTITUTION:In this valve timing control device, four sliders 19 to 22 are provided at the front surface of a single piston provided slidable between a sprocket 2 and a sleeve 10, and the relative rotating phase of a camshaft and a driven sprocket is converted following the slidings of the sliders 19 to 22 through arms 11. The front end faces 19c to 22c of the sliders 19 to 22, and the side end faces 16a to 17b of the arms 11 are formed in a helical surface form respectively, and the free rotations of the sliders 19 to 22 making pins 23 to 26 as the centers are blocked.</p> |
