SUSTAINED-RELEASE FIBER MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide a sustained-release fiber material capable of sustainedly releasing fragrance, etc., over a long period and to provide a process for relatively easily producing the sustained-release fiber without deteriorating the characteristic feeling and softness of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:The sustained-release fiber material contains a porous polymer including an active component and filled in the hollow part of a hollow fiber base material wherein the polymer is physically and/or chemically bonded to the base material. The porous polymer including an active component is prepared by a sol-get process from at least one kind of material selected from inorganic alkoxides and metal alkoxides, a silane-coupling agent having epoxy group and at least one kind of active component selected from perfumery and pharmaceuticals. The polymer is an aggregate of essentially uniform fine particles and the active component is included in the polymer.
