PURPOSE:To produce alloy powder for a bond magnet improved in magnetic properties, by sticking and forming on alloy powder of an R2Fe14B phase (R denotes rate earth element including Y) contg. a specified amt. of Co, a liquid phase compound layer contg. R more than the alloy powder. CONSTITUTION:Main component series alloy powder or an R2Fe14 B phase main phase essentially consisting of, by atom, 12 to 25% R, 4 to 10% B, 0.1 to 10% Co and 68 to 80% Fe and liquid phase comound powder constituted of 20 to 45% R, 3 to 20% Co and <=12% B, and the balance Fe are blended and mixed. The liquid phase compounds are ones in which an R2(FeCo)14B phase is partially contained in an intermetallic compound phase of Co or Fe and R contg. an R3Co phase. By this blending and mixing, the liquid phase compound powder is stuck on the surface of the main component alloy powder grains, and, if required, coating treatment is applied. Next, these are subjected to heat treatment at 700 to 1050 deg.C. In this way, the liquid phase compound layer is stuck and formed on the surface of the main component alloy powder, by which the falling of boundary layers at the time of fine pulverizing and surface defects are recovered to improve its magnetic properties. |
