PURPOSE:To provide a curved honeycomb mold body high in rigidity which is hardly damaged by repeated thermal loading. CONSTITUTION:The curved honeycomb mold body 8 in an ellipse shape in cross section while each cell is in a square shape, includes a plurality of through holes (curved passage) 14 which are penetrated through from one end face to the other end face. Each through hole 14 is formed into a partition composed of inner walls 12 extended in the radial direction and inner walls 10 extended in the major axis direction of the aforesaid ellipse. In this case, a pitch Py between bulkheads, that is, the adjacent inner walls 10 and 10 forming each through hole 14, is so set as to be made gradually small at a linear rate or stepwise as it goes from the inward diameter side to the outward diameter side. Each through hole 14 is in a square shape in cross section while being roughly identical in area to each other. The thickness tx of each inner wall 12 extended in the radial direction is kept constant. And the thickness (rib thickness) of each inner wall 10 forming each through hole 14 is made relatively larger at the outward diameter side than that of each through hole at the inward diameter side, so that strength for thermal loading is thereby made high. |
