PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of manufacture of plate by carrying out final water- washing process for plate whose active substance is metal hydroxide while making cathodic polarization in pure water of a lesser amount. CONSTITUTION:The plate, e.g., a sintered type nickel hydroxide, etc., is first subjected to a forming treatment and the then to a water-washing process in which the electrode strip plate 1 is sent to the first water-washing tank 3 filled with the soft water 2 to remove alkalis and other impurities. Then, the electrode strip plate 1 is sent to the second water-washing tank 5 where external power source 7 is applied acroos the counter electrode 6 consisting of graphite plates for making acthodic polarization, and then dried to obtain a complete plate. Thus, with a lesser amount of pure water, an effect favorably comparable with that obtained in the case where all the water-washing processes are carried out with pure water can be obtained. |
