PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of fixing failure and maintain the function in a desirable state by using a scanner part as various detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A scanner part 26 provided with a read head 25 formed of a CCD is disposed between a printer part and a fixing device 9 in the conveying direction, and the read head 25 reads a document image and a toner image transferred onto recording paper 3 and outputs a read signal to a control means such as a CPU. The control means detects the density of the toner image on the basis of the read signal of the recording paper 3 from the read head 25 and controls the temperature of the heating roller 9b of the fixing device 9 in correspondence with the density of the toner image. |
