PURPOSE: To provide a fuel assembly wherein a reaction level is controlled by selectively changing the level of control liquid in a hollow control rod and which can be detached from a core. CONSTITUTION: An upper part and lower part tie plates 20 and 22 and multiple fuel rods 24 and hollow control rods 26, distributed between them, are provide. To the lower part tie plate 22, a lower part manifold 28 is connected, while being in communication relation ship with a reservoir 30 which holds a neutron absorptive control liquid. The reservoir 30 can be detached from a core 16 together with a fuel assembly 18. The control liquid is selectively supplied from the reservoir 30, through the lower part manifold 28, into the control rod.
