PURPOSE:To provide a method enabling the efficacies of respective ingredients to be potentiated and adequately, effectively manifested in consideration of the mutual influences for the ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A formulation composed of (A) carrot, (B) Agkistrodon japonicae and (C) rhizome of Coptis japonicae is prepared so that the weight ratio be (1-3):(0.1-3):(0.1-0.5). For the formulation, the respective tonic activities for the components A and B are synergistically manifested, the vasopressor activity and hot flash-inductive activity due to the component A is suppressed by the component C, and the tonic activity and anti-inflammatory activity are effectively manifested, thus enabling gastrointestinal health maintenance and promotion. When the above formulation is incorporated in a combination of (D) Matricaria chamomilla extract, (E) plum meat extract, (F) licorice and (G) Coriolus versicolor, the anti-inflammatory activity of the component D can synergistically be potentiated, and owing to the component E, the respective activities of the components A, B and C are favorably manifested; simultaneously, the detoxifying activity and muscle stiffness-vanishing activity due to glycyrrhizin present in the component F are manifested; in these state, the activity of polysaccharide (s) as an ingredient of the component G having carcinostatic activity is manifested. |
