PURPOSE: To eliminate the unpleasant sensation of a racket when hitting a ball by including at least one damping element made of a viscoelastic material and the like to substantially damping the frame vibration and string vibration of the racket. CONSTITUTION: A tennis racket 10 comprises a frame 12 having a head 14, branches 16, 18 forming a bridge 20 and a handle 22. Damping elements 26 are secured on the frame 12 of such racket 10 to damp the frame vibration and/or string vibration. The damping elements 26 is made of a viscoelastic material 28, and secured on the frame 12 with a pressing layer 30 made of a suitable material such as aluminum, graphite or steel. The damping elements 26 may be arranged layer by layer if necessary, and the number of layers is decided in response to the ability of a user. |
