<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a prepreg thicker than a usual one by little labor and to reduce production cost by holding a multilayered fabric layer comprising a reinforcing fabrics between solid films comprising a curable resin compsn. and heating the same under pressure to impregnate the reinforcing fabrics with the resin compsn. to form a cohesive curable structure. CONSTITUTION: As a reinforcing fabric, a carbon fiber fabric is pref. A multilayered fabric layer comprises a superposed sheet of at least two or more, pref., two reinforcing fabrics and may be put together by a stitch for a fabric if necessary. A curable resin film pref. comprises an epoxy resin or a phenol/ aldehyde/resol resin and may be formed on a releasable backing sheet. This multilayered fabric layer is held between the curable resin films and passed, for example, through the nip between heating rollers to be formed into a prepreg. The temp. of the heating rollers is set to 50-180 deg.C, pref. 70-140 deg.C and the pressure thereof is set to 150-1,000 kPa, pref., 200-600 kPa.</p> |
