PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic photocatalyst capable of being easily removed from a solvent after photocatalytic reaction in the solvent by coating a material having photocatalytic action on the surface of a magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic photocatalyst is formed by coating the surface of the magnetic powder with the material having photocatalytic action. At the time of using the photocatalyst, as the major part of the photocatalyst is attracted by magnet after the completion of reaction, filtering of the photocatalyst from the solvent is unnecessary. Even in the case of a condition necessitating filtering, the filtering is extremely easy as at first the photocatalyst is removed by magnet. That is, being attracted by magnet, the photocatalyst is recovered by magnet even after heterogeneous catalytic reaction in the solvent and the recovery of the photocatalyst after general industrial photoreaction and photopurification of water is easily executed. |
