PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material capable of enhancing the durability and abrasion resistance of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer containing a dye precursor and a developer allowing the dye precursor to develop a color at the time of heating as main components is provided on support and a protective layer containing a water-soluble resin and a filler as main components is provided on the recording layer, the content of alkaline earth metal (mainly, calcium and magnesium) in the thermal recording material is sit to 6000 ppm or less (pref., the total content of calcium and magnesium is set to 500ppm or less, especially, the content of calcium alone is set to 300ppm or less). |
